ANZAC DAY

MONDAY’S MEMORIAL SERVICE Monday next. Anzac Day, will be observed as a general holiday-—or rather, as the Act provides, it will be observed in all respects as a Sunday. In the afternoon there will be a Memorial Service as usual in the town hall at 2.15 on arrival of the Returned Soldiers and other uniis who will march from the corner of First Avenue and Devonport Road. The address on this occasion will be given by the Rev. O. S. O. Gibson. After the service the public are invited to accompany the members of the Returned Soldiers’ Association to the memorial gates at the Domain, where floral tributes wifi be placed to the memory of the men who fell in the war. The wreaths placed on the cenotaph at the town hall during the day will be conveyed to the various cemeteries by members of the Returned Soldiers’ Association and placed upon the graves of returned soldiers and veterans. At Te Puke the memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. and at Katikati at 1.30 p.m. The service at Katikati will be. conducted by the Rev. E. A. Addis.
