WHEAT CROP
PRICE FOR GROWERS Wellington, March 31 A statement concerning wheat prices was made by the Minister of Industries and Commerces, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan. “When I announced last year that tho price to be paid to growers for the wheat of the 1938 crop would be on a basis of 5s 9d per bushel for Tuscan variety, March delivery, I intimated that tho price for the 1939 crop would be on approximately tho same basis os for the 1938 crop," said Mr Sullivan. “I am now able to give an assurance to growers that the price will definitely be on the basis of 5s 9d per bushel for Tuscan wheat, March delivery, and I sincerely hope that if any doubt remained in the minds of the growers after I made my previous announcement that doubt will now be removed. I feel it is desirable that growers should know this so that they will realise that the Government is most anxious to maintain stability in the industry.”
