Mr Allan Hunter, Jnr., who some time ago had his leg broken in an accident, was discharged from hospital this week.

Miss Nancy Benge, of Wellington, is visiting her aunt, Mrs J. Mackay, 6th Avenue.

Mr T. G. Reynolds, of Hamilton, is paying a visit to Tauranga and is staying at the Tauranga Hotel.

Miss Madge Lemon, of Auckland, is spending a holiday in Tauranga and is the guest of Mrs Gavin.

Guests at the Star Hotel include Mrs Blackey, Miss Grier, Miss Mathias, Miss Beady, ana Mr Williams.

Guests at the Tauranga Hotel include Mr and Mrs Titchener, Mr and Mrs Donaldson, Mr and Mrs Smith, Messrs Lavington, Reynolds, and Mellars.

Word has been received that Mr Fred Gavin, of Tauranga, has been selected for a Commission in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Twelve Commissions were granted, and for these there were approximately four thousand applicants. Mr Gavin, up to the present, has acquired all his knowledge regarding aviation in Tauranga and in a few months will leave for the Flying Training School. He is the first Tauranga boy to be selected for a commission in the Air Force and the honour is a distinctive one.
