Mr Blake’s sixteen footer also started with the two boats, and finished close up on the Coy, while Mr -Western's Vic, which joined in on the heat down the harbour showed them all a clean pah of heels at the end. We understand another race is likely to take pla K between the two boats when there is more wind.” “The advantage to farmers of pro, riding ensilage for winter fodder is now very generally recognised. Ensilage preserves the quality of green feed in an extraordinary degree and has the advantage that weeds and other waste products of the farm may be utilised. The green feed may be stored in any weather, and will do much to maintain the supply and richness of the milk during the winter months. In a variable climate, silage overcomes the difficulty of fodder preservation, as it can be collected in any weather. The great point is to exclude the air by sufficient pressure. S‘ack silos are coming more into u.,e as being more convenient, but pit silos are generally regarded as being the safest, as it requires a greater pressure to secure the exclusion of the air in the stack.”
