MUNICIPAL POLLS

LABOUR FAILS ELECTIONS IN NEW SOUTH WALES Sydney, Dec. G The triennial elections of municipal and shire councils were held throughout the State on Saturday. Most of the candidates returned were non-political. The State Australian Labour Party executive made a bid to capture many of the councils, but results disclose that it again failed, holding a majority in only seven metropolitan industrial centres. A feature of the metropolitan contests - was The defeat at Glebe of twelve Australian Labour party candidates, including four retiring aldermen, by a team endorsed by the local Labour League.

Polling in five wards of the,, city will take place to-day.
