Gram lor Teacher’s Residence. Mr C. H. Burnett, M.P.. has been advised by the Hon. P. 'Fraser, Minister of Education, that Cabinet has approved of a grant for tire erection of a head-teacher's residence at the Katikati School.

Site for Surf Club Building. Advice- has’ been received by Mr C. TI. Burnett, M.P., from the Hon. F. Langstone, Minister of Lands, that the Government has approved of an area on the waterfront being set aside as a site for the erection of a suitable building and social club room for the Mount Maunganui Surf Club. This area will be placed under the control of the Town Board acting as a Domain Board. The land was originally portion of a road and the Town Board will finalise the offer at its next meeting. Anzac Parade. In the Anzac Day parade, two additional representatives were Mrs Blows of Te Puke, and Mrs E. Pemberton, Tauranga, Queen Mary Army Auxiliari Corps. Cattle on Uoad at Night. Motorists are faced with the menace of straying cattle on the Te Puke main road at night. On Wednesday last a local resident passed some young cattle grazing on the road between Welcome Bay and Papamoa and having occasion to pass along the same road late on Friday night was fortunate in escaping collision with the same cattle. Evidently some graziers still take advantage of feed available on the “long padodek” even at the risk of others’ legitimate use of the King's highway.
