HAIR STYLES
FOR THE CORONATION Already the peeresses and others who will have the honour of attending the Coronation .are planning not only their gowns but the hair styles that will best suit the occasion. In many cases women are faking their Coronation jewellery into their hairdresser’s salon so that they can have a “dress rehearsal” to decide beforehand in what way they will wear their hair. Thus writes “Vilma” in the Daily Mail. Where the jewelled headdress is very simple, the hair -will be dressed elaborately, but heavier jewels call for more severe styles. The tendency will be to pile the hair high, and, where it is still long, to dress it in knots on the crown of the head. The younger generation will wear theirs swept severely from the forehead. The smartest women in London are insisting on a really sleek coiffure to wear beneatlf the mid-season hats which are just making their appearance. Lady Birkenhead insists always on the off-the-forehead swathed style, which has one or two curls over the forehead and at the back. Mrs Alec Waugh is another of the well-dressed women who have their own ideas on hair-dressing, Tall and dark, she wears her hair in the rolled curls which have just come into fashion.
