Mr C. IT. Burnett, M.P., returned on Saturday from a visit to Wellington. Mrs B. C. Robbins returned to-day from a short holiday spent at Hamilton and Waihi. ivir and Mrs J'. Attrill, of Te Puke, who have been in business there for a number of years, contemplate a trip to England for the Coronation. Mr and Mrs Attrill expect to leave New Zealand on the Rangitikei and contemplate extending their holiday for about nine months. The “Daily Telegraph” understands that the engagement will be announced shortly of Lord William Montagu-Donglas-Scott, M.P; (Con., Roxburgh)’, brother of the Duchess of Gloucester, who is 2G, and Lady Rkchel Douglas Home, daughter of the Earl of Home. Lord William is the most intimate friend of the Duke of Gloucester. The death has occurred at Wellington- of Mr Robert Parker, C.M.G., organist at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral for over 60 years, and doyen of music in New Zealand. He was in his 91st year.
