A white hen —twice a champion and worth CO guineas-—laid an egg at the Islington dairy show. The egg—valued at £15 —was immediately broken because it might easily have contained another champion. Hundreds of eggs are broken daily at the show, as there is always a danger of rival breeders hatching prize birds.
