YESTERDAY’S RACES FINE WEATHER CONDITIONS AUCKLAND AND PLTAOIEKTON TWO WINS EACH Auckland, Jan. 24 The sixth race for the Cornwell Cup was sailed this afternoon in a steady north-easterly breeze. Christchurch were first away from a good start, followed by Plimmerton, Hamilton, and Manukau. Ou the run to Northcote Point, Manukau took the lead, followed by Hamilton, Pliramerton, and Christchurch. The first round finished with Manukau leading by 4 6 seconds from Plimmerton, with Lyttelton 54 seconds, and Auckland I minute 12 seconds later. The same order was maintained in the last round, except that Auckland moved into third place. The finishing times were: Manukau. 3h 19m 585.; Plimmerton, 3h 20m 10s; Auckland was over a minute later.

Auckland, Jan. 25 Plimmerton won the seventh race yesterday.

The contest is now in an interesting stage. Seven races have been sailed. Plimmerton and Auckland have two wins each, while Manukau, Tauranga and Kaiapoi each have a win. Three more races will he sailed to-day, if necessary, but the contest ends if Plimmerton or Auckland win early.
