The Regent

A glamorous mystery romance of modern New York which appeared in serial form is the basis for K. K. O. Radio's latest success, “Star of Midnight," double stcrring William Powell and Ginger Rogers, and showing at I lie Regent to-day. Written by the late Arthur Somers Roche, the story has a background of social and night life in the gay metropolis, pins some of the rendezvous of the underworld. William Powell is n brilliant young lawyer who falls strangely into a Sherlock Holmes part and then has to fight dcsperahly for his own safety. Ginger Rogers, R. K. O. Radio's sensational young lyric, terpsichorean and dramatic star, is a youthful society girl whose interest in the mystery is largely due to her romantic interest in the suave Powell.

Town Hall In her new starring Paramount film, “Now I’m A Lady," which opens to-day at the Town Hall Theatre, Mae West undergoes the strange and eventful transition from a cowgirl to the sweetheart of society in Southampton, without losing her poise or her wise-cracking ability. Mao West's adventures in “Sow I'm A Lady,” which presents her in modern clothes, and up-to-date settings, start way back in the cattle country where she inherits the money of a cattle baron, and decides to go after a handsome young Englishman —Paul Cavanagh—on whom she bad an eye for some time. When you see "The Rustlers’ Roundup,” a Universal picture starring Tom Mix, at the Town Hall Theatre to-day, you wilt be witnessing, during part of the picture, scenes from an actual rodeo held in Ventura, California. Tom, when be drives the stage coach for the picture going public, at the same time Is actually staging a real race at a real rodeo.
