KING COUNTRY V. BAY OP PLENTY The members of the. King Country touring team arrived here yesterday afternoon and are staying at the Star Hotel. They will play - a match against the Bay of Plenty representatives on the local domain to-mor-row. ■ . ■- ■ -v-. » . At Paeroa on Saturday King Country defeated the Thames Valley representatives by 22 points to 16. The game wan fast and open. The winners' backs are a smart combination, while their forwards average 13 stone and are well versed in the finer points of the game. The King Country team will be: Pull-back, J. Barlow; three-quarters, Howie, Bathgate (captain), Durbridge; five-eighths, Sargent; Crossman; half-back, R. Barlow; forwards, Nelson, King, Wheeler (front row), Plckrang, Trust, Turner, Bradshaw, Baker. Emergencies, Simson (back). Perry (forward). The following will represent the Bay of Plenty: Pull-back, C. Francis; three-quarters, J. Morgan, R. Lees, D. Sinclair; five-eighths, E. Howell, W. Williams; half-back, J Pile; forwards, C. Newth, M. Mcßae, I. Tangitu, Wharerau, P. Ririnnl, T Whlteley, J. Brodrick, J. Brown Emergencies, Mcßae and R. Howell (backs), R. Jones and Moody (forwards). The Bay of Plenty team is a strong one, both back and forward and should be capable of giving a good account of themselves. Brodrick and Whiteley were included in the Maori team which recently toured Australia. , Given a fine afternoon the game should provide a good exposition of Rugby. - , The representative match is scheduled to start at 2.30 p.m. and will be preceded by a curtain raiser by the two.leading local junior teams.
