SHOOTING
I Tauranga Defence Rifle I Club FLOYD CHAMPIONSHIP BELT. A further shoot in the A series for the Floyd Championship Belt was fired on the range last Saturday. Good shooting was witnessed on the 200yds mounds, where Kiddie made 49 points out of a possible of 50, followed by H. Oliver 48, while Johnston and Ward each returned 47 points each. The shooting at 300yds was not of the same high standard the only marksman returning a good score being Kiddie, whose aggregate for the day was 95 points.
A handicap match over 500 and ( ' 600yds will be fired on the local range next Saturday. Shooting will commence at 1.30 p.m. A letter has been received from Mr \V. Moore, Hon. Secretary of the Rangitaiki Defence Club, stating that the Shield match falls due on Saturday, March 17t,h, and will be fired on the \ Thornton range. Mr Moore added: "Expect Tauranga to win it this time. ; Our men have not been keeping up to their usual standard.. Mrs Moore ' is now too good for any of us. She , is leading off the rifle for the sea- ' son's aggregate." ;
