Annual Meeting of Committee

The annual meeting of the Tauranga Licensing Committee was held in the Courthouse, Tauranga., yesterday. Present: Messrs J. Brown. F. J. Burt. V. J. Scantlebury and Major Moore, S.A., and Mr M. Simmonds (Clerk). In the absence of Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M.. Mr Burt was voted to the chair. Constable Skinner represented the police. Messrs J. Auld, J. F, Russell Wallace and T. A. Carroll (Te Aroha) appeared for a number of the applicants. The reports concerning the various licensed houses were satisfactory. The following applications were dealt with: Publicans’ Licenses. Renewals of Publican's Licenses were granted to: N. Quirk, Hot Springs Hotel, Te Aroha. M. J. Curran, Palace Hotel, Te Aroha. J. H. Evans, Grand Hotel, Te Aroha. L. Armitage, Commercial Hotel, Tauranga. P. F. Purcell, Star Hotel, Tauranga. H. E. Olding, Masonic Hotel, Tauranga. J. P. Mahoney, Te Puke Hotel, Te Puke. The isue of a publican’s License to G. A. Avey, Tauranga Hotel, Tauranga, was granted. Accommodation Licenses, Renewal of Accommodation Licenses were granted to: T. B. Dunderdale, Te Teko Hotel, Te Teko. H. L. Anderson, Horse Shoe Inn. Matata. K. G. Paxton, Talisman Hotel, Katikati. The issue of an Accommodation License to C. N. Spence. Taneatua Hotel, Taneatua, was granted. Wholesale License. A Wholesale License to Guinness Bros. Ltd., Tauranga, was granted.
