LOCAL AND GENERAL.

The St. John Ambulance examination, which is being held, to-night, will take place in the Coronation Hall, not the Foresters’ Hall as published in yesterday’s issue.

The fortnightly card evening of the Tauranga Hockey Association was held in Poster’s Tea Rooms last night. The prize winners were Mrs P. Smith and Mr H. Hartnett.

The fire siren sounded at 1.15 this morning. The fire, which was discovered by the night watchman, Mr W. Kiddie, was in the flat occupied by Mr A. Banks in Devonport Road. The Brigade was quickly on the scene and suppressed the outbreak before any appreciabile damage was caused.
