KATIKATI NOTES
INTERESTING LECTURE. On Monday evening last in the Picture House, Katikati, Dr Fox, D.Litt., who is on leave, gave a very interesting lecture on the work of a missionary in the Solomon Islands. In a very entertaining and graphic way he contrasted the conditions of thirty years ago with those obtaining at the present time. Dr Fox went'on to describe the multifarious duties of a schoolmaster in a mission school in the islands, dwelling on the value of sports and games in replacing the old fighting activities of the natives. The proceedings terminated in a vote of thanks proposed by Canon Kayll and a collection for the Melanesian Mission to be forwarded through the usual channels.
