WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
PAENGAROA BRANCH. The Paeugaroa Women’s Institute held its meeting recently. Business was discussed and a, delegate appointed to the federation conference in Whakatane on April 7. The potatogrowing competition caused much interest, the highest results being gained by Mrs Conway, with 4 Dibs. Garden hints were also given. The roll call, “Hints on jam a.nd jelly making,” was responded to, and much information exchanged. Two demonstrations were given, one on preserving apples (sulphunmethod), and one on rug-making. Tea was served as usual during the afternoon and the bring and buy stall was well patronised
