BACK TO THE HORSE.
PROCESSION IN BRISBANE. “Back to the horse” was celebrated in Brisbane lately, when a procession through the city was headed by the Premier of Queensland, Mr More, riding a. police remount, accompanied by the minister of Transport, Mr G. Morgan, who was similarly mounted, and the Lord Mayor, Mr Greene, who rode a grey horse. Following was a string of horse vehicles nearly half a mile in length, 80 hacks, led by the Equestrienne Club, commercial horse vehicles, more saddle horses, including station blood horses, and 50 boys and girls on ponies. Some of the vehicles bore, slogans, such as “Bight horses in the city will keep one family on the land.”
