AMERICAN COW’S FEAT. Ida Clifton’s Ethel, a pnrbred Jersey cow owned by W. D. Howard, of Milford. Massachusetts, recently completed the highest Jersey records for; milk and butter-fat production ever t made in America in the senior three-' year-old class. With her milk yield of 15.1511 b., the equivalent of 5433 quarts of milk in a year, she surpassed the record of Lass GGth of Hood Farm, a cow whose record was com-* pleted in 1915. and with her butterfat yield of 1030.791 b., the equivalent of 12SSlb. of butter, she took championship honours from St. Mawes; Lad's Pride, Jersey cow, whose record was finislrbd in 1925. Eight, different supervisors from the State agricultural colleges of Massachusetts and Connecticut checked the production of Ida Clifton’s Ethel during the year of test. In the last mouth of the record year, which was the’ 13th month of the lactation, she produced 99.261 b. of butter-fat, or more than the total of any month of the test. Her yield of 511 b. of milk, or 23. quarts, on the last day of the year of test was just one pound less than her yield on the firSt day.
