PERSONAL.
Mr A. W. Chapman, a well-known resident of Hamilton, who has acquired Mr W. Ferguson’s property of four hundred acres at Papamoa, has been visiting the district, and intends settling with his family at Papamoa in the near future. The new owner intends to fully develop the farm, which is one of the best in Taurauga County, and its carrying capacity can be greatly increased. Mr Chapman has a wide experience of farming and he should prove a decided acquisition to the ranks of Papamoa farmers.
Miss E. Angus, of Wellington, is the guest of Mr and Mrs Chilves Trundle, of “Bankside,” Tauranga.
A. farewell to the headmaster of the Maketu School, Bay of Plenty, Mr H. McCambridge, who has been transferred to Kawakawa, was given by scholars and their parents, during the week-end. Mr W. Neilson, chairman of the school committee, expressed appreciation of Mr McCambridge’s work. Mr McCambridge was presented with a case of pipes and Mrs McCambridge with a silver hot-water jug by the parents and Mr McCambridge with a set of hair brushes by the scholars.
