CUT THEM DOWN.
TOO MANY LEGISLATORS. Auckland, March 24. A reduction by half in number of members of Parliament and the Legislative Councillors was urged in a remit from the Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce and unanimously adopted by the conference of the Franklin Combined Chambers of Commerce at Papatoeloe yesterday. Mr J. B. Sims said that there had been too much legislation in the past and much of it had proved useless. With a reduction is the number of members, it would be possible to get brains in Parliament.
