ATLANTIC FLIGHT.

KINGSFORD SMITH'S PLANS. Nc-w York, April 14 Tim operations department at the Rooosevelt Field Aerodrome announces that private information received from London indicates that Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith,, in the reconditioned Southern Cross, will attempt an Atlantic crossing, anticipating Captain Costes, the French aviator, who announces his intention of flying the ocean from Paris before May 8. The Australian’s plans of lust year were abandoned. It is believed the desire to achieve the honour of completing the first westward flight from Europe to New York has induced Kingsford Smith to revive the undertaking. He will fly from Croydon and arrangements are being made here for his arrival. A certain amount, of uncertainty has arisen in regard to the plans of Kingsford Smith with the Southern Cross. He said then that the other members of the crew of the .Southern Cross, wiio were his colleagues on the Tasman and Sydney to England flights.
