EMPIRE GAMES.

NEW ZEALAND ROWING EIGHT. The representation of New Zealand at the British Empire Games to be held at Hamilton, Canada, in August, was discussed at a further meeting of the Empire Games Committee at Wellington on Thursday evening. The New Zealanders are scheduled to leave Auckland by the Aorangi on July 1, returning from San Francisco by the Tahiti on September 3, and reaching Wellington on September 22. The estimated travelling expenses would total £llO for each representative. Mr A. D. Bayfield said he left confident the Dominion Rowing Eight would be worthy of its place with the representatives, and it would have every chancy of success. Probably the New Zealand eight would be announced after the regatta at Auckland on March 22.
