' DOWN LIFT WELL. Auckland, March 8 , A remarkable escape from serious injury was experienced by Jack Howe, aged 19 years, when he fell about 75ft down the lift well at the build,ing under construction for the T. and G. Mutual Life Assurance on the corner of Wellesley Street West and EII liott Street yesterday. Howe was removed to the Auckland hospital in ! the St. John Ambulance. He received cuts to the head, but his condi- | tion last evening was not serious.
