NURSE’S LIFE SAVED
PROMPT ACTION BY YOUTH. Dunedin, Nov. 14. A young woman named Calder, a nurse, had a narrow escape from drowning while swimming at St Clair Beach. She was a hundred yards out when she was seefii to throw her arms up and signal for help. Richard Coxon swam out and grasped her, biit he could make no headway against the undertow. Ivan Turnbull swam to his assistance with a life line against a strong current, and the three got ashore exhausted. _ Miss Calder, on recovering, said she would have been drowned but for the vouth’s promptness and courage.
