WINTER EXHIBITION
THE BABY CONTEST. Interest in the Baby Contest is growing, and the array of photographs in the Farmers’ Trading Company’s window on the Strand is a clear indication that entrants are not wanting. Fifteen have been received, and the voting has started in earnest. As has been pointed out previously, each photogiaj)h is numbered, and the voting is by numbers. Coupons are selling readily, but judging from the display in the company’s window it is not going to be an easy task to pick the favourite. The Committee is organising various means for the sale of coupons, and it is proposed to have a fancy dressed troop promenading the Strand on Saturday evening next for that purpose. The Building Committee met yesterday and after going into matters it was found that it would be necessary to put up an annexe of :’,oft x 60ft to cope with the applications for space. Several large marquees will also be required.
