SOUTHERN CROSS

LANDS SAFELY AT DERBY. Sydney, April IS. The Southern Cross landed at Dcrhy, Western Australia, at ■!. 15 p.m. to-day. The four members of the crew are reported to be well. An earlier message from Derby stated that Captain Heath, who was the first to land alongside the stranded crew of the monoplane on the mud flat near the Glenelg River, flew back to them this morning in a Bristol touring aeroplane. He took 90 gallons of petrol and a supply of foodstuffs. Kingsford Smith and his comrades are all eager to take part in the search for Lieutenant Keith Anderson and his mechanic, Mr R. S. Hitchcock, who had intended to search for the Southern Cross. Earlier to-day it was reported from Wyndham that the Kookaburra had been seen and heard at Turkey Creek and that the Canberra bad consequently gone to search the country as far as that place. Three more Air Force raalchincs have left Point Cook, Victoria, to assist in the search.
