FEBRUARY A DRY MONTH. The following are extracts from the monthly meteorological return for Ffebruary prepared by Miss K. L. Butrher, official observer:— degrees Mean maximum temperature 77.3 Mean minimum temperature 53.0 Highest maximum tern, {on 13th) Bfi9 I mwest minimum tem. (on 10th) 43.8 -Mean temperature for month - gg.j inches Total rainfall ogj Greatest rainfall in one day (on Oud) 0.77 The rainfall is the lowest recorded for February for the past eighteen years, as compared with the average of 3.55 inches, 'and rain fell ou three days only. South-westerly winds predominated greatly, a. south-westerly gale occurring on the 7th.
