AMUSEMENTS

On Saturday next the Metro-Oold-wyh-Mayer picture “Riders of the Dark,” starring Tim McCoy, will be the featured attraction. McCoy has been on the screen some eighteen months, but in that time ho has earned the reputation of being the finest of outdoor stars. Ho is handsome, a daring horseman, a deadly shot, of exceptionally fine physique, and has proved himself to be an actor of no mean accomplishment. “Riders of the Dark” is, a thrilling and fastmoving tale of asmall frontier town in the days when gangs of bandits terrorised the population for miles around. Drama arises from the death of the owner and editor of the Hangtown “Bugle,’’ whose straight talk about the gang arouses their wrath—and through his pretty daughter, Molly, for whose love the gang leader and Lieut. Crane, a courageous cavalryman, fighting a desperate battle, the odds being greatly against the gallant Crane. The , supporting programme is exceptionally good, a Charlie Chase comedy being one of the jnetures. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next, the management has much pleasure in presenting the great allBritish naval epic film, “The Battles of Coronel and the Falkland Islands.’’ This will ho found a film nothing short of amazing in its realism. It was made with the full support of the Admiralty. Without such aid the picture could not have been produced. “The Homes of the King,” a natural coloured picture, is also showing.
