GAS ACTIVITY
EXPLOSION IN OIL BORE. . (Per Press Association) New Plymouth, Jam 24. Gas activity in the Blenheim oil boro here, at which reclamation work is progressing, caused an explosion which startled nearby residents yesterday. The engineer slates that a violent explosion, ns tlie plunger was being withdrawn, blew the plunger through the roof of the derrick and shot oil, mud and \va. ter to a height of about one hundred feel. Some damage resulted to the structure and the machinery.
