FARMER SERIOUSLY INJURED
CRUSHED UNDER WHARF. (Per Press Association.) Ashburton. June 9 Peter Barrie, a fanner of Tinwala, has been seriously injured. He had jacked a whare up for repairs and was underneath on his hack when the jack slipped. Mrs Barrie attempted to release him by digging him out with a spade. Assistance came at length and Barrie was admitted to the hospital in an unconscious condition. Blood transfusion was necessary, a neighbour’s employee giving (he blood required. Though still critical, Barrie’s condition is slightly improved.
