The funds of the I Board axe very meagre, and without going into th© whole question of wheth- ! er the Board is liable under the Rating Act, or not, I trust your- Council will j with die w any claim it may have for , rates; in fact, seeing that the domain \ is such a benefit to the ratepayers of the county it would be quite a proper and I legitimate subject for a grant from your Council, and I can assure you that such would he money well spent.” The questions of the area of the domain, the portion leased, and the amount of the rates were raised. Or Darragh said it was a pity to rate tho domain, which was kept for the benefit of the public. Cr Harris moved —That the matter b© deferred till next meeting in order j that further investigation as to area.. , etc.* be made. The motion was seconded by Or. Darragh and carried.
