PONGAKAWA BUSH ROAD

Mr C. 13. Jenkins and ten others have forwarded to the d’auranga County Council a petition, requesting that the Bush Road at Rongakawa be put in order, as it is almost impassable. At the meeting of the Council yesterday, Cr Mundt moved That the standing orders be suspended and the petition dealt with. —Seconded by Cr Morton and carried. The engineer (Mr Woodward) said there was 1 a grant of £IOO, on ,£1 for £1 basis, available for the road. Or Mundt moved—-That the engineer and the Maketu Riding councillors inspect the road with a view to taking steps for the expenditure of the grant or a portion of it. The motion was seconded by Cr Harris and carried.
