The commission charged by the Public Trustee for the administration of estates has recently been substantially reduced. With a few minor exceptions commission on, the capital of estates when realised is now charged according to the following scale: On the first £5,000, per cent. On the next £5,000, per cent. On the next £40,000, 1 per cent. On excess of £50,000, 3-4 per cent. When assets are transferred in kind the charges are: On the first £5,000, U per cent. On the next £5,000, 1 per cent. On all in excess of £IO,OOO, h per cent. The commission charged on rent or on interest on mortgages has been reduced from 5 per cent to per cent on amounts in excess of £SOO per annum.
