TRAGIC END OF AUCKLANDER'S VISIT TO AFRICA. Auckland. Nov 4 A cable received from the widow, states Dial Mr W. R. Twigg. of Auckland, was killed in an encounter with a lion in Africa. Messrs Twigg and John Holmes, of Franktcn Junction, left Auckland in Juno with the intent of big game shooting in Central Africa. Mrs Twigg, accompanied lier husband was slaying at Livingstone, Rhodesia, while Messrs Twigg and Holmes went into the wilds after- game. Mr Twigg was one of tho best deer stalkers in New Zealand and had probably tho finest collection of heads in the Dominion. A considerable portion went to Wembley on loan to the Government. Mr Twigg was very well known in business circles as Chairman of the Twigg Engineering Co., and head of W. R. Twigg,. Ltd.
