WATERSIDERS’ DISPUTE
Cliristcliurcli, Nov 4 One of the demands of the watersiders in regard to the unload - ing of phosphate from the Wonganella, is a proposal that an independent Chairman be elected to preside over a meeting of the local disputes committee. The Avatersiders’ proposed that the Rev. J. K. Archer, or Mr J. McCombs should act, but the employers opposed the suggestion and for that reason a deadlock occurred yesterday. This morning advice was received that the National Disputes Committee, to whom the question of an independent chairman had been referred, has in turn referred the matter to the Arbitration Court, who will elect a Chairman.
