Miss Campbell, matron of the To Puke maternity hospital, has resigned her position. The Hospital BoarfT Has appointed Miss M. C. Roberts, of Whakatane. to the’position. At tlx© meeting of the Hospital Board yesterday it was reported that' *fliss Piper had been appointed to ttifc staff of the To Puke maternity hospital. Miss Bapsou has resigned from the staff oT the Tanranga Hospital and Miss Hinne, of Aongatote has boon appointed to the vacancy. Miss Demon, of the staff of King George V Hospital, Rotorua, arrived here best night and is staying at the Star Hotel. Miss Denton will spend a holiday at Mount Maunganui. Mr and Mrs W. E. Farnham, formerly of Tanninga-. have arrived, from the South Island and are staying for about a week as the guests of Mr and Mrs F. N. Christian. Mr T. M. Will' ord. who was compelled to resign his position as Leader of the Opposition during the last session of Parliament, accompanied by Mrs. Milford, his son. and the son's Tamilv. left Wellington yesterday by the Port Dunedin for London. Mr R. Coulter, Nationalist candidate for the Tauranga. electorate, left this morning for Katikati. The death has - occurred" of Mr J. S. Phillips, a member of the fetching staff of one of the Waihi schools. Mr L. Mande.no, who is a family connection of the deceased, left for WailiT this morning to attend die funeral.
