After the re- I % topring crew and friends entertained a . evening and. S ;; .« to the efforts of the ' Committee the function

proved very enjoyable and a pleasant evening was spent. The member for the [district and Patron of the Club, Mr C. E. Macmillan, congratulated the crew and on behalf of the Club presented each member with a gold medal inscribed ltdtli the various successes. •‘At Easier tinny with the object, of raising- funds to assist in the purchase of now boats, your Committee organised a Gala Day on the. Xaurangu domain and although tin- epidomc prevented the children at lending, the affair was an unqualified success from every point of view. A lengthy and interesting sports programme was carried out without a hitclt during the day and ilie various commit ees were responsible for excellent work. ‘Tlie Town Hall authorities kindly consented to grant the Club a benefit picture entertainment. A few of our members proved themwlvc.s to be very energetic ticket sellers, while the ladies increased the ieeeipts by ihe sale of sweets and in consequence the takings amounted to twenty-three pounds. “la view of the success achieved Ijv the Club during the past season tin; CotJimitl.ee have felt justified in launching out on a fairly substantial programme for the increase 1 I of the Club's plant to enable us to oimpele on something like equal terms with other Clubs at regattas. Tliis programme includes the purchase of one racing pair-oar and double-sculling boat, two practice pair-oar and double-sculling boats, three complete sets of oars and two sets of riggers for theg Clubs practice fours, involving an expenditure of close on two hundred pounds. This means that: an ovc draft of close upon one hundred pounds is necessary at the Bank and your Committee has made the necessary arrangements. The present equipment, consisting of two practice fours and the Holt Boat, are in first-class order and with reasonable care should be good for many seasons. It will be apparent from the foregoing that members will have to work hard in the interests of the Club during the season 1925-1926.
