SUICIDE OF LECTURER

At the inquest on H. G. Evelyn White, a verdict of suicide while ol unsound mind was returned. A brother of White stated that deceased a vdeek ago was verv upset and told him that M iss Nind had been pursuing him. He to lid her he had no affection for her. M iss Nind had throaten'ed to commit suicide
A London cable of September 0 stated that H. Cr. Evelyn White, a lecturer at Leeds University, and a, wellknown Egyptian archaeologist, com milted suicide in a taxi cab at Leeds while proceeding to the inquest on Miss Helen Xind, a music teacher, whither he was subpoenaed. The inquest disclosed that Miss Xind poisoned herself with carbolic acid. Correspondence between White and Miss Xind was produced at the inquest.
