HOTELKEEPER’S LIABILITIES
(Per Press Association}. Wellington, July 9. The magistrate, Mr Riddell, entered judgment for plaintiff: in a claim against a city hotelkeeper for the loss of belongings while plaintiff was staying at the hotel. His Worship remarked that a notice was posted up, stating that the licensee would take no responsibility for the property lost, but this did not relieve him from liability under the Act. This was one of the risks attached to keeping licensed premises.
