The polled ascertained that the i*ed were loaded with pieces of carrot and not bullets. Amongst the belongings of a suspect they discovered a carrot, showing the marks where the muzzles of the revolvers had lieea in the vegetable. The police arrested five boys, who are alleged to have confessed to emulating the maturer robbers.. They spent a pound note with which they bought toy revolvers. They terrorised and robbed, a number of children and raided the State school and the scholars overcoats, and finished hy breaking into a letter box and stealing cheques worth £l4O.
