An important conference at Bombay regarding the Nationalist movement was suddenly interrupted by Gandhi deciding to observe a vow of silence for a short period. This is a new form of his conduct of political affairs. V hen in doubt, formerly, Gandhi used to fast. The silence vow will probably result in the break-up of the conference.
