FIRE AT MANUREWA
MR L. !). NATHAN'S RESIDENCE DESTROYS D. (For Fress A.fisomttou,'! Auckland, Dec. 22. Mr L. D. Nathan’s beautiful residence at. Manurewa was completely destroyed by lire this morning. The origin of the- fire is a complete mystery, but it may have been caused by the- fusing of an electric light or in connection with, the- hot water ser vice. The building contained priceless relics of early Auckland: and purchases of Mr Nathan’s recentworld tour. Mr Nathan and family escaped in their night attire. The servants lest practically everything. The buildings and contents were insured for £15,000 in the United Office.
