OAMARU BY-ELECTION
ADDRESS BY LIBERAL CANDI DATE.
(Per Press Association). Oamaru, April 24. Mr J. A. Macpherson, Liberal candidate for the Oaonaru seat, addressed a very large meeting in the Opera House last night and had a very cordial reception. After dealing at great length with the circumstances which gave rise to the second election he strongly criticised the Reform administration and denounced Reform propaganda in which cre|lit was claimed for many Liberal measures. He said he disdained sympathy, but appealed to the electors not to be led astray by Mr Massey saying the defeat of Mr Lee would mean another election. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried by an overwhelming majority.
