FORMATION OF COMPANY. g— fc...u A, meeting was held last evening tinder the auspices of the Taurauga Chamber of Commerce, Mr Mann iixmg in the chair and supported by M r Robbins the secretary of the provisional committee formed to cooperate witli Mr -1. ft, Morton tp establish the Morton Efficiency De-, hydrator Factory in the Bay of Plenty. The meeting .wars called to hear a abort address by Mr Morton, who explained the progress made in w (ling intercut aroused & practical support pledged in the? various centres of the Bay of Plenty, where he has 1 ccturedv during the last two weeks, and to, finalize the preliminary steps towards launching the local company. Prominent business end piufessiomd men from Taunmga were present, as well as visitors irom. Auckland and Whakatane, and a special delegation from Gate Pa. it was agreed that the starting of this proposed factory in the Bay, which would provide, a market for farm, garden and. orchard produce would be of great benefit to the dis- - and was deserving of the active support of the community. Mrß. C. Robbins proposed, and iiie meeting carried the resolution, that ho bo empowered to engage a canvasser to collect a fund Ho cover the preliminary expense involved in terming the loc;\l .company, which sum it was estimated would be mvyicr .£IOOO. This money is 'to meet stamp duties, cost of printing the prospectus, and share application forms.
