TAURANGA WINS ATTRILL cur. Tho final game in the Altrill Cup was played cn the Domain on Saturday last, when Matata opposed the local eleven. Before the match on Saturday the position of the teams was: Taurauga 6 points, Matata 5 points, Te Puke 3 points. Taurauga batted first, and made a poor start, Baker being bowled oft his pads at 21. Jordan filled the vacancy and was batting with confidence" when unfortunately ho was run out, through a misunderstanding with his partner. Mackay then partnered. Rcnshaw and the third wicket put on 87 when Mackay was bowled by Burt. lies failed, but Bellingham was batting well when he was run out 5 for 175. Jhe luncheon adjournment was then taken, Rcnshaw being 118 not out. After lunch Rcnshaw increased his twore by a further 28, being eighth man out for 146. Tho innings finally closing for 217. On Matata going to the wickets no ono seemed at home with Mackay tho only batsman to play with any confidence being Mikkclsen, who was top scorer with 22, the innings closing at 4.10 for 79., leaving lanranga winners by 138. The Taurauga fielding and catching was an improvement on anything seen this year, the ball being very greasy and hard to hold. Jordan made a very efficient substitute for Goulding behind the sticks, only allowing one byo and stumping two. Mackay was again the most successful bowler, his eight wickets costing 41. Ball was the most successful bowler for Matata, taking 3 wickets for 14 runs. After the match, in the unavoidable absence of the donor, Mr W.
