CASE AGAINST BISHOP LISTON
further adjournment Auckland, April 29 The charge against Bishop Liston of having made seditious utterances at the St. Patrick’s Day concert in the Town Hall was again mentioned in the Police Court this morning. “ I just wish to mention the case of Ward v Liston,” said Mr Meredith (Crown Prosecutor). It is desired that there shall be a further adjournment for a week. The magistrate accordingly granted an adjournment until 27th inst. There was a large crowd at the back of the court, but so quietly was the application made and granted that it was apparently not heard beyond the railings, and those who came in expectation of seeing or hearing something did not know what had transpired until the whole of the cases set down in the charge sheet had been disposed of and the court adjourned.
