PRICE OF BREAD
FARTHINGS ELIMINATED Representations having been made by the local bakers to the Board of Trade, through the local Inspector of Factories (Constable Skinner) regarding the difficulty experienced in the charge of 6?4d. for a 2lb loaf, Constable Skinner is now in receipt of a reply from the Secretary of the Board stating that the matter of prices for bread in Tauranga has been reconsidered, and an extra farthing per SINGLE 2lb. loaf has been allowed. The following are the prices as now fixed—
It is to be distinctly understood that only in the case of a SINGLE 2lb loaf sold for cash over the counter can 7d be charged, or on the sale of an odd number of 2lb loaves foi cash over the counter this price may be charged on the odd loat thus for three 2lb loaves the price will be is Sid. Similarly the price of 7UI may be charged on a SINGLE loaf for the “ odd ” loaf as above mentioned when delivered for cash. The price of two2lb loaves must be the same as for one 4l b loaf-
