Since then' many rumours have been abroad that the loner was not satisfied on account of Opotiki not competing, and it was current talk that a race was to be rowed between Tauranga and Opotiki, Nothing definite appears to be known, and many interested in rowing are anxious to know what is the position. At the annual meeting of the Waihi Rugby Union the officers for the ensuing season were elected as follows : President, Mr R. Philpot; secretary, Mr H. A. Keven ; treasurer, Mr H.
