Major-General Sir . Andrew Russell is visiting the Tauranga and Te Puke districts to-day. The Ngapuhi arrives as usual to-morrow morning and sails for Auckland in the evening. She leaves Auckland again on Wednesday, sailing from lauranga on Thursday evening. One thousand three hundred sheep were shipped from Whakatane to Auckland last week. Mr C. Morrison, of Te Aroha, who framed the handicaps for the Tauranga athletic sports, is due to arrive hereon Wednesday night and will attend the local sports meeting on Thursday, The sum of £1417 5s was paid in rates to the Tauranga County Council last month.
